Hornets and Hornets Reserves have now recorded their worst ever start to a league campaign with both teams suffering another set of defeats at the weekend.

Hornets were at home to AFC Claines and despite looking strong in places, there was nothing in the final third of the field. The only goal of the game for Hornets came from stalwart Dave Jenko with a fine header, but the Yellow and Black aren’t testing opponents enough in games.

The Reserves travelled to Pillar of Salt Korono, who currently top the table, without a keeper. Both Brazier and Wheatley are out injured and Ruff was on his jollies, leaving Holloway to take the gloves. He earned a man of the match for his efforts but the Reserves still slipped to a five-nil defeat, leaving them with only one point so far this season.

In some good news, the club gained some national exposure when Webmaster Y2Neil’s video of Unders underweighted backpass against Northside was shown on SoccerAM! The club and Neil both got a mention and the nation got to laugh at the open goal miss.
