After the Hornets Reserves were rained off again, HFC staff got together and organised another friendly against Martley Spurs Reserves.
The last time these two met resulted in a one-nil victory for Hornets, albeit an unconvincing win. Whilst the display this week looked lacklustre in places, Hornets were able to pull off a more convincing victory and could have kept a clean sheet if it hadn’t been an unfortunate deflection.
Goals from Diesel and Brazier in the first half were doubled by two Sam Birch goals in the second half to net the Hornets a four goal lead. It could have been a lot more if passes had been made or empty nets tapped into but Diesel missed his opportunity for a brace when he went one on one and couldn’t beat the keeper and Birch missed an empty net for a hat trick.
Munch might even have got on the score sheet if he had focused on the game and not shaking other peoples hands.
League action returns next week, if Worcester isn’t underwater.
