Hornets FC started their 2015/2016 Division Two campaign off by taking all three points away to Clifton Rovers. It was a strong display from Hornets who showed great resolve even after going behind twice, despite controlling vast pockets of the game.

Tom Marchment bagged his first hat-trick of the season, proving his versatility as he scored from midfield and in the striker role. Hornets however will be disappointed with their sloppy defending which essentially gifted Clifton with all four of their goals. Overall, Hornets management were pleased with the teams performance, noting that sides of old may well have crumbled.

Clifton will get their chance at redemption in a couple of weeks when they host Hornets again but in the cup competition. Hornets will be hoping for a similar result with a tighter back door.
