With the World Cup final looming, people are looking more than ever on Brazil and the football culture that has developed there. One of the countries greatest exports is Futsal, a variation of small sided football that grew up on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
Hornets FC are putting together a Summer Futsal Academy to be held at Bishop Perowne for six weeks starting on July 24th. Here, kids will be able to learn the art of Futsal which is more of a skill based five-a-side. The game uses taller goals than regular five-a-side football and a smaller ball which carries some weight, allowing for greater manipulation and trickery. This is the art of showing off.
The session, that lasts for one hour and start promptly at 6pm, are open to both boys and girls aged between 7 and 11 and will be coached by a fully qualified UEFA B licensed coach. The Academy will be £2 per week per child attending.
